hourly consultations make the most sense in early stages of the project. For:

1. Defining the scope of design / loads / application. Estimating the time, Setting up the requirements, “targets”.

2. Defining what type of service providers will be required - for manufacturing. Standards to address for insurance…

3. Agreeing on work packages and deliverables. Hours… and preferably - penalties for failure also. :)
